To strengthen the university’s sustainable governance capacity and stay aligned with emerging net-zero standards, Ming Chuan University’s Office of Sustainability hosted the ISO 14068-1:2023 Carbon Neutrality Lead Verifier Training Program from November 26 to 28. The program was led by Distinguished Professor Pei-Ti Shen, Deputy Executive Director of the University Development Committee, with 25 faculty and staff members participating to enhance their practical skills in greenhouse gas management and sustainability governance.

The course covered core topics such as carbon neutrality commitments, greenhouse gas inventories, emission reduction pathway planning, and carbon offsetting. Delivered by professional instructors from the British Standards Institution (BSI), the training helped participants familiarize themselves with the latest international standards and verification procedures. Deputy Director Min-Juei Chu of the Office of Sustainability stated that carbon neutrality verification has become an essential competency in global sustainability governance, and introducing internationally recognized training will strengthen MCU’s expertise in carbon management and net-zero initiatives.

Ming Chuan University continues to advance its dual-track transformation toward intelligence and sustainability.
