About Us

History and Role

Ming Chuan University established the Sustainable Development Center under the University Affairs Development Committee in September 2021. In April 2023, the center was upgraded to a university-level unit, and in May 2024, the Sustainable Development Division was officially established.

This adjustment signifies that Ming Chuan University has formally expanded its University Social Responsibility (USR) program into a broader university sustainability strategy, positioning itself as an innovator and practitioner in higher education development that integrates sustainable economics and environmental, social and governance issues, advancing a dual transformation toward a smart and sustainable university.

Our Mission

The mission of the Sustainable Development Division encompasses four key aspects: strengthening university governance, enhancing social impact, promoting environmental sustainability, and supporting the green economy. Through research innovation, educational advancement, organizational governance, and social practices, the division connects the university’s mid-to-long-term development plans and the Higher Education Sprout Project. Through these, it aims to concretely implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on campus, creating a paradigm shift in university sustainability.
