[Campus News] MCU Visits Pacific Cycles Museum Hands-On Learning in Sustainable Finance and Environmental Education

To deepen faculty and students’ understanding of green finance, sustainable design, and environmental education, Ming Chuan University’s Office of Sustainability organized an off-campus visit to the Pacific Cycles Museum on October 28, supported by the Ministry of Education’s *Smart and Climate-Friendly Campus Initiative*. The visit was led by Distinguished Professor Pei-Ti Shen from the University Development Committee and Deputy Director Min-Juei Chu from the Office of Sustainability, with a total of 23 participants joining the field learning experience to explore sustainable mobility in the industry context.

The delegation was personally received by Ms. Eva Lin, Chairperson of Pacific Cycles, who shared the company’s practices in sustainable design and green manufacturing. She also introduced the GRNTRX carbon credit mechanism and applications of green finance, allowing participants to understand how the bicycle industry integrates carbon trading with sustainable business operations to generate positive social impact. Following the briefing, faculty and students toured the museum, gaining insights into the evolution of bicycles—from design innovation to low-carbon transportation—through guided exhibitions and hands-on riding experiences. Deputy Director Chu noted that the visit effectively linked classroom learning with international trends such as sustainable finance and carbon credits, serving as a concrete step toward promoting a climate-friendly campus.

Ming Chuan University continues its dual-track transformation toward intelligence and sustainability. Through diverse industry–academia collaborations and educational activities, the university supports its community in strengthening sustainability literacy and practical engagement, advancing toward the vision of a sustainable campus.
